Our Story

Talkversity was founded July 2020 by rising senior Serra Tulu. Serra's passion for languages, spreading knowledge, as well as looking for opportunities to pay back to the community is what provoked her to create this organization. She wanted to help individuals who have English as their second language to break their linguistic barriers while fostering a fun environment where bonds and memories are created. Serra then recruited a team of friends and began to hire tutors and partners with her team. The board collaborates together to help the organization grow, and impact more children's lives.

What we strive to achieve

At Talkversity, our goal is to provide a diverse population of non-native speakers of English, ESL/ELL students certain services, which can help them overcome their linguistic barriers. The organization and the programs offered are mostly devoted to teaching and improving students' English skills, but also promote teens to take on different volunteer opportunities, and to learn about civic engagement, community service, and develop some leadership skills.

Our slogan, English Made Easy, represents how our different programs appeal to different facets of life in English, and make learning about it easy and fun!

Our board

Our team consists of passionate teen volunteers who have collaborated and have worked together to bring you to the program, and who are a big part of what the program is like today. Take a look below to get to know more about them.

She is responsible for directing major decisions and managing the operations and resources of the organization. She recruits and works with each individual board member to best serve our students and volunteers.
